A changing system
EPA’s evaluation reported continued leaching over time in the conditions it examined. This means a result from an early time point may not describe a longer storage period. The observation calls attention to a basic question: when was the sample collected relative to filling?
A useful comparison
For a real supply-chain question, the relevant period might include transport, warehousing and use. A short laboratory contact test needs a clear explanation before it is used to characterize a much longer application. The article should identify any extrapolation rather than silently treating it as a measured result.
Bound the conclusion
Time is only one variable; the liquid and material also matter. This does not mean every container behaves identically or that any duration implies a specific harm. It means the conditions and dates should travel with the reported finding, especially when historical testing is compared with a supplier’s newer claims.
